I am thinking of moving to the eastern shore to buy a little land - not on the coast per se. Are there any bad areas I should avoid? I really like the northern section, but dont want to move to MD.

My wife and I came very close to buying land extremely close to the MD-VA border on the eastern shore. My wife became ill and we made other plans. The area we where looking at were homes in Captains Cove and land in Greenbackville. Both on the Atlantic side-minutes away. I believe the Chesapeake is about 40 minutes west.

We moved here about a year ago. We rented a house for awhile before we found one to buy. I really don't know of many areas to avoid, but looking at the newspapers / police reports may give you a better idea, if that is what you mean. Try looking online at the Eastern Shore Post.
