Is this a reasonable commute? I'm hearing that rush hours in this area can be pretty bad.

Thanks.

My sister and brother-in-law commuted from Gloucester to Newport News and it was regularly at least an hour. Not sure that's super-helpful, you might want to post this on the Hampton Roads forum if you haven't done so already.

How long does it take normally? What part of each end are you referring to?

I have a friend who commutes from Gloucester to W'burg over the Colonial Parkway, and she seems to find it, generally, agreeable. If I were going to work in W'burg, I would try to live there. It's a nice city. You'll find the outskirts more affordable than within the city (or county) limits.

I lived in Gloucester County while I attended grad school at William and Mary. It's an easy commute. It can take as little as 20 minutes to as long as hour depending on your starting point, destination and time of day.

The commute is very easy, and pretty. The Colonial Parkway is a direct and very pleasant route from the Coleman Bridge to the Burg. The only traffic will be on route 17 in Gloucester. It isn't bad at all.
