Hey there!

My family and I are moving to the Staunton VA area from the little place of Hurt, Va (about 45 minutes south of Lynchburg).

I'm so nervous on the move, it is getting closer and closer ( end of July ) and the more nervous I get. Being up there without any help to care for my boys ages 5 and 2. I guess I just worry about what if this what if that happens and I don't have anyone to lean on, I know my hubs will be there, though he isn't the most sensitive. Although here We are 45 minutes from my mother so the distance will now only be 1.2 hours from her, so it's not that far away. I'm a worry wort anyways, but I need to step out of my comfort zone and live life instead of just watching it.

I just want to make friends fast! That will make me feel more at home.

Any advice?

Hi,
You might want to have this moved to the Moving Forum. I think you will get more replies as it focuses on moving issues. I'm not sure how many replies you will get here.

I strongly urge you to find a church you are comfortable with.

I live in Staunton. Plenty of great churches in the area. Check the local library as there is always something going on. Head over to Gypsy Hill park. Nice playground and in the summer always something going on at the gazebo. Tonight is JAZZ in the park. You won't have any trouble meeting new people and making friends. Welcome to Staunton.

We are moving because my husband is going to coach basketball and teach at a local Augusta county high school. I have found a job and start tomorrow! Wow am I nervous, but that'll pass. We have moved and so far I like it, it's really pretty up here and people are nice. Still a lot of unpacking to do but that's ok, it'll get done at some point!
