I need help with some affordable and living places in Northern VA. Do anybody have any suggestion? I considered living in South towards Frederickburg because it seem like you can find more affordable living. Can anybody give me some advice?

If you live in Fredericksburg, you will absolutely HATE the commute to Bethesda. Try posting in the Northern Virginia, DC, and Maryland Forums. I am sure there are some affordable spots on the Maryland side. Should be able to get lots of responses from those forums. Good luck!

What do you consider affordable? 'Affordable' in the DC suburbs is a lot more than most places. Montgomery county, along with Northern VA is one of the more expensive places to live in the country. I would look at Howard County and the west side of Baltimore county(MD) for more affordable housing and not a bad commute. Maybe Prince William county nearer Fairfax. Fredericksburg to Bethesda is a suicidal commute. Probably 1:45 or more each way.

You got it! I have family in Howard County. Friends further west towards the Frederick area but I wouldn't recommend that as the 270 commute would be a bear.

To give you an idea of what you are asking. I worked in Bethesda and commuted from Gaithersburg - maybe 7-8 miles. The drive took 30-45 minutes.

Fredricksburg VA to Bethesda MD isn't possible. Stay in Bethesda and get a second job with the 4-5 hrs a day you are going to save in your commuting time!
