If metro were more reliable and cheaper, then it would make sense. Buses take longer than driving and metro would cost me $15/day and take almost as long as driving.

I guess it varies on your route. And yes I do wish metro was cheaper and more reliable.

Should be fun times.....I never hit the Pike on the weekends, ya can't move! NIH is a gauntlet, massive construction at that campus. They broke ground at Pike Plaza for a tower, and lets not forget Westfields Mall has permits pending for redevelopment at that mall. I call them, the quiet one, slowly they seek approvals
Thats Good News......A BIGGER Westfield Mall in Bethesda would be amazing (Westfield has excellent Upscale stores already) but Tyson's LOL.......I love Tysons Corner but to have the same amount of stores avaiable on home turf would be outstanding!!!!!

At some point they need to compete with Tysons. That is the main reason behind the Rockville Pike redevelopment.

Don't they need to attract actual businesses in order to compete with Tysons?

When I lived in 20852, I avoided Rockville Pike.

HINT: I would typically drive up Old Georgetown Road to Executive Blvd then E Jefferson and turn along a side street to get where I needed. Red lights would change and we didn't move one bit. It was faster walking than driving, at times.

The traffic is utterly insane on the Pike. I realized that I couldn't move back there after I left in 2007.

Maybe for the state of Maryland to be more tax and regulation competitive with VA? It's fine if you're a state like NY or CA and you have no real competition as to where companies are going to open offices, but in this area you have an 800 pound gorilla that is far more attractive to businesses.
