Hello,

Is there someone that would be able to give me directions from Westminster, MD to Rockville. I would be starting on 140 and going to Physician's Lane in Rockville. I have gotten directions from several different internet sites (Map quest, Yahoo etc.) but they seem to be taking me in circles. I think there may be a quicker way. I am also trying to take back roads and avoid I-270 if possible.

Thanks!

Steve

I did not look up the exact directions but route 97 runs just about directly from Westminster to Rockville.

Try maps.google.com That is the best site and you can even move the pointers if you want to change your route and it will recalculate for you.

For your start point put: MD-140, Westminster, Carroll, Maryland 21158, United States
For your end point put: Physicians Lane Rockville, MD

I'd go down 27, through Mt. Airy, Damascus, Germantown, then hop on 270 for a few miles.

You mentioned avoiding I-270. Is this because you'll be traveling down during rush hour? If so... 27 is also a mess during rush hour. Imagine a two lane road feeding Mt. Airy and Damascus to points south.... But that would be the most direct route I imagine.

The other route is to take 97 S to Sunshine, then sundown to Zion, to Muncaster, to Redland.... this route is shown here on Google.

I used to live about a minute away from Physicians lane. And after we moved to Ellicott City, my wife took that 97 route back to her work for 8 months (2 miles from our previous home). It took her about 45 to an hour depending on traffic.
