Hello Everyone-
I have found some really good info/statistics on Montgomery Village, but not able to find much recent information. I've got an opportunity to get into a townhome off Arrowhead Road on a 2 year lease for next to nothing which will allow us to save for a new home. Great opportunity, but I want to be sure it's a good place for my two (2) sons who are 11 and 15 (6th and 10th grade). If anyone has information on the area (Frostburg Way) it would be much appreciated. What are Watkins Mill High or Montgomery Village Middle Schols like? What is it like to just walk the dog around the neighborhood? Shopping? Commuting? Crime? Just want to get a feel for safety and convenience for my family before I commit to this 2 year deal. Thanks so much!

Hi, I used to live in Germantown, which is the next town over, and I would seriously reconsider moving to MV. Please call the local police station for stats, but this area is know for gang activity, etc. The high school, Watkins Mill, has fights and MS13 activity, and not sure about the middle school. My husband grew up in MV in the 70's and 80's and we moved this spring to get away from the overcrowding and growing crime. Lakeforest Mall has had shooting/stabblng in the mall and at the local bus stops. So has the strip mall by the McDonalds. My office moved from that areas in 2003 b/c of vandalized cars, etc. Sorry it's all negative, but I moved away for all these reasons.
