We are moving to the area this summer. We are thinking about renting a 2BR/2BA condo at Kentlands Colonnades for 6-12 months until we buy a house in Kentlands/Lakelands. We have a 13 year old daughter.

Any opinions on these condos? Will there be kids for her to play with? Any safety issues within the complex?

Is it condo close to the amenities? Is it safe to let my daughter walk to the shops and movie theater?

Kentlands is the most desirable area to live in all of Gaithersburg.

Safe? Yes. But also remember the city houses 60,000 residents.

Montgomery county is known to be lenient on criminals. It's also a haven for illegal aliens.

We JUST looked at 2 of these last week. Out of the choices in Kentlands/Lakeland, this would be my last choice. You need to look at the Colonnades before you decide- personally, I would not move there with a 13 yr old dau (I have 2 dau who are now in their ealry 20's) because I think she would be bored. Kentlands is a great area, but try some of the TH or apts.

Bored? Maybe. You're only doing it for 6 months right? Sounds okay to me.
