Is anyone familiar with this apartment complex? It's new (opened in summer 2008) so I can't find any reviews on apartmentratings or any other sites. I'd love to hear some personal feedback if anybody has any comments.

I am curious if anyone has more information about them. I visited it a few weeks ago but found some in the leasing office to be aloof and a bit coy. It looks like a great building, wonder what may be wrong with it.

I live at Wentworth House in North Bethesda. I lived there since October 2008 and will be moving out as soon as my lease expires in October 2009. The apartment complex is clean and fancy, but I must post this warning. The complex resides next to a railroad track. Every half-hour to 45 minutes, all day long (even all throughout the night when sleeping) trains pass by the complex blowing its horn as it passes through a major intersection. For eight months I been having serious health issues such as anxiety, dizziness, foggy head, slow healing. After investigating, my health issues were due to the train's horn interferring with my deep sleep at night. I started sleeping with ear plugs. Within 2 days all my health issues disappeared. Ear plugs is only a temporary solution, though, because it's very uncomfortable sleeping in them. This October I will be moving to "The Grand" which is about a half mile from Wentworth House in a direction away from the railroad tracks. I lived at "The Grand" 5 years ago and like it very much, and I hardly hear the train there.

You will definately Hate living in most parts of The Carolina's, Georgia, Alabama, and most areas in the Deep South due to several track routes of the Norfolk Southern Rail Lines......

I've lived here since August 2009 and I've liked it so far.
My apartment is nice and the harris teeter is 24 hours and downstairs. The metro is on the same square block. I pay $1950 for a 1-bedroom with den, and 2 parking spaces. I believe you can get a 1-bedroom for around $1600 or so. Decent price for the nice building and area.
The building is nice and the staff is friendly.
The comment about the train - yes the train definitely goes by a few times a night. My apartment faces the train tracks, although you can get an apartment on the other side as well. I keep my windows closed and can barely hear it. However, if you like to sleep with your windows open, it will wake you up each time. In the summer, I like to keep my windows open, but cannot do this any longer.

The pool hours are pretty weak... They close early on weekdays and aren't open too long on weekends either. If you are home a lot, you will enjoy the pool. However, I tend to work 60+ hour weeks and have probably been able to make it to the rooftop pool.

The lounge area upstairs is very nice, and they do movie night every tuesday.

I would give the gym a "B", it's nicer than many buildings here, but the gym at the Grand is better.

Is it a good place for young professional singles? Is the staff friendly?
