So we made the move to NoVA last year, lease time is up and we now are about to rent a home in a quiet area in Adelphi. (decided crossing the river would make his commute easier)

Right now, I mainly shop at Whole Foods, Wegmans and Trader Joes.

Is going into Silver Spring going to be my best choice? I am a foodie and need large stores with the most variety I can find.

Thanks! This site was so much help when I moved to the area a year ago!

There is a trader joes off of 29 in Silver Spring (as well as a whole foods in downtown SS) -- I make the trip from Hyattsville (near Adelphi) on a regular basis (about 15 minutes). There is a MOMS in College Park (by the REI) and Super Fresh off of Cherry Hill (make a left off of Powder Mill onto Cherry Hill) which is also a nice store....

Thanks for the recommendations. We met with the owner of the property last night to sign the lease and he gave a few more ideas. We also saw a nice looking Shoppers over by the IKEA so it looks like I will be covered. Now I just need to scout out the best place to get Asian groceries.

Go along the University Boulevard corridor mainly in the area where it intersects with New Hampshire Avenue. You'll find all sorts of markets since that is the multi-ethnic area.

I grew up in the area and that intersection has a lot of traffic so most of the markets are located in the area.
