Well I guess your mileage may vary. I had one hell of a time at UMCP. When did you graduate?

I'm still attending. Where did I say I'm not having fun? I love it here. All I'm saying is that compared to some other towns I've been to, CP isn't that great. Until recently we had two bars for a campus of 27,000 students. It's improving for sure, but talking to some of my friends' parents who went here in the 80s, the town kinda went downhill.

Two bars? I forgot how bad it fell off after I left. I graduated in 04. So I can understand where you come from. To me college towns are relative to where your college is. For example UMCP is right next to DC which, for me having close intimate access to Howard University, Trinity, GWU, Georgetown, and the "riches" of DC helped to boost it in my mind. Granted a lot of college town have more bars and what not, College Park had Lupo's, lol.
As you can see, I really don't have any sort of case here, but Penn St. sucks and Pennsylvania does too by extension.
Oh yes, being close to DC is definitely great. But, having grown up there, the 'wow' factor wasn't as great as it would be for someone from outside the area
The bar situation has improved somewhat though! We still don't have a real replacement for Fe sadly.
