You might want to think Loudon County. Why? You can find something that fits you and be close to Dulles airport for travel. Metro is being built and should soon reach out there to give you access to the city, but there's also the toll road.

There's also the Columbia, MD area which puts you between Baltimore and Washington, is close to BWI, has MARC train service, and good schools. Highways I-95, US-29, BW Parkway all ive you good access to both cities. 70 gets you access to Frederick.

Is it that much worse in Prince George's county versus NoVa? Figured they filmed The Wire based on Baltimore for a reason.

1. There we're some scenes in the wire where PG (and DC) we're mentioned.
When Bodie (one of the corner boys) was sent down to Boys Village in Upper Marlboro and the guard told him it was mostly DC boys in there he hurried up and escaped because he knew DC and PG dudes hated people from Bmore and they was gonna kill them. That DC/PG vs Bmore beef is real an it all started in the 80's because of jail, money, and drugs. Nowadays its a lot calmer but we still have a beef somewhat. PG county has a lot of problems and crime is only getting worse because of DC's gentrification....

The Wire could've been filmed in any city

Well there are nice parts of PG county like Ft. Washington, Upper Marlboro, and Bowie. I've seen some beautiful homes out there. Baltimore is going to have more of the blue collar feel versus the DC area as a whole actually.

I agree that the Wire could've been filmed in any city even my little small hometown in Georgia.
