I just did a bunch of research on elementary schools near Georgetown - mainly Horace Mann in Wesley and Stoddert in Glover Park - and figured I might as well post the links here so somebody else could save a little time if they're going through the same comparison...
We have been absolutely thrilled at this school. Many of the kids stay and play after school while the parents socialize. As out-of-towners moving to the community, we were worried about finding friends (both for our kids and for ourselves). I don't think there could be a better elementary school community than this. The teaching is excellent. There's no significant bullying. My only complaint is that a 3 bedroom rowhouse costs $800K in the surrounding neighborhood! If you're considering this school for your child and have recently won the lottery, proceed with confidence!
