Yay? These grocery stores should have been here long before that. There are still many parts of DC that do not have access to decent grocery stores.
While it's big news, I do scratch my head on this one. Why would there be a need for a whole foods there? A brand new Giant food just opened up 3 blocks west on H and you still have the Harris Teeter that opened up in 2011 less than a mile away next to the Metro. Now you'll also have a WalMart less than a mile away on H street NW as well opening up soon.
I'm sure there are other parts of the city who could've used a Whole foods

DC and the DMV area as a whole is going to be amazing by 2020! Can you just imagine all the either under construction or proposed projects along with the new transit options that will be in place by then. You quite literally will not have to leave the DC area for anything. I wish I could time warp to the future and peek in, then come back to 2013!
At least it's filling in H Street where it begins to get disconnected and sparse.
