Hello fellow city nerds. I have a friend who'll be subletting my apartment near Union Station and will be working at Reston Town Center. He has a car but he'd rather take transit and I'd really love to be able to reccomend some transit options.

There appear to be a number of metro to bus transfer options but all of them seem to be over an hour, which kind of sucks. Does anyone know of any commuter buses that leave any part of DC or Rosslyn and go to RTC? Are there any slug lines in DC that go to Reston, or does that not really happen in the city itself?

Any related information would also help. Thanks!

We've had a few threads on this (hint: search for the word Dulles). Basically the general advice is a) drive your car or b) move out there.

There really isn't a workable public transit option available until the Silver Line is opened in a few years.

This was a recent thread:

There's a commuter bus from the West Falls Church Metro to Reston. Check Metro - Bus
