I live in Seabeck and it just stopped snowing around 2:00pm. We currently have 10 inches of snow on our property and no electricity; running on generator It is now raining and temps are in the low 30's. Roads haven't been plowed since very early this morning. We are hoping the slushy (sp?) snow won't freeze overnight!

In general the Puget Sounds lowlands have miled winters - wet but mild.

Check out these pics - palm trees would not grow here if it was truely cold every winter.

Hope you get power back soon, Kalidog. It's amazing that there are such differences in snow accumulation in surrounding communities. We're not far from Seabeck in Poulsbo and just have patches of snow on the ground here--not even an inch. We live close to Liberty Bay, so we're at a low elevation. The winds and rain are supposed to pick up tonight and make tomorrow a rough day. Take care!

Lynn

Wow, hope you get your electricity back on soon and that slush doesnt freeze overnight (reminds me of Ohio winters).

Looking at the forecast and current conditions, I don't think anywhere in Kitsap county will have their slush freeze tonight.

We just hope that no flooding will occur at your place, Kalidog.

From 6 inches of snow up here in western Whatcom Co. to sleet to all rain now.....getting heavier by the minute too.
Temps. have gone up 15 degrees this evening and the wind has also really picked up and shifted to southeast from a colder N-NE direction earlier.
Yep.....here comes the next round.
Hope the windstorm doesn't get as bad as the last one........but I do forsee a crapload of rain and flooding likely after this next one is all said and done with.

Got power back late yesterday afternoon.

No flooding yet but we do have a "river" coming out of the wetlands on our property through our pasture which is below the house. Good thing the water is flowing down hill.

The Puget Sound lowlands stay warm enough all winter that even when it does snow it melts right away.
I honestly don't remember that at all.
