What can anyone tell me about camping at Camp Grande on Camano Island, WA? It appears to be a time share, private association or something of that nature.

Default Camp Grandy

I am scanning some old family albums to save them on disc and have found several labeled Camp Grandy 1944.

If I had your email I would send what I have. rebelor@juno.com

Camp Grande is a privately owned recreation area on Camano Island. Its corporate shareholders and their guests enjoy the exclusive use of its facilities year round. It is not available for public use, however, occasionally shares in Pilchuck Corporation do become available to the general public if none of the current shareholders wish to increase their investment.

As above, it's private. Don't know if you were interested in that camp specifically or rather looking for Camano camping in general. If the latter, we've stayed at Cama Beach multiple times and like it a lot- particularly during the fall and winter "off season" months. Two or 3 of the times we've stayed in their cabins during the winter, we've had almost the whole place to ourselves- which we really enjoyed! Reservations are made through WA State Parks.

Anyway in case you're interested here's the URL: Cama Beach State Park

I was the caretaker at camp grande for a year. In that time my wife and I became familiar with
The resort and Camano Island. If you want to stay in one of the most beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest.
A great place for kids to run and have fun. They have great water from a well. Great view of Puget
Sound Whitby Island. Winter ice storms are severe but spring and summer are best. During the week is quiet , weekends are busy. The history of Camp Grande is awesome. All the celebrities of the day came to relax.
21 cabins. RV pads with electric, water, sewer. Only one store a mile away for beer, charcoal,
And quick supplies. Shopping is available on the island.
Membership is available like a time share.
Shrimp boats come by the pier, tons of smelt swimming by.
We'll worth the time, energy and a nice drive. It used to be owned and operated by Pillchuck association.
Quiet, safe and beautiful. Caretaker is there everyday to answer questions.
One two day trip will sell itself. I was there a couple years ago and it is untouched by progress, traffic and chaos.
Hope tis helped!
