Wondering how tall the trees are in the Umatilla National Forest.

Depends on the species and on the soil type and depth. Ponderosa pines can get at least 150 feet tall.

Isn't the Umatilla National Forest in Eastern Oregon? Shouldn't this thread be in the Oregon site thread.

Most of it is, but there's a portion that juts into SE Washington - just east of Walla Walla.

I'm asking about the part that is in Washington.

I understand that Ponderosa can grow 150' tall, but do they really grow that tall in Umatilla? I'm thinking that they aren't that tall typically there.
