Question Bellingham Area Hotels

Hello Everyone,

We are looking to take a trip to check out the Bellingham area, but we are looking for some hotels that are on the water. We are not looking for anything like a spa or high end place.. Just a nice family place that we can see the water and enjoy the area.

It does not have to be in Bellingham... even down towards Mt. Vernon? We are going to be checking out the area for relocation and will be driving around, but really want to be able to see the bay/water when we are there.

Any ideas or tips would be great - also what should we miss seeing if we are there for a couple days.

Thanks!
