I've been checking weather.com most of the summer, and a couple of times it showed a high here of 100F. The highest heat index I've seen so far this year was 112F.
The highest is very true (small weather station + car thermometer) but obviously unofficial, the lowest is based off of my memory (usually very reliable).

The 112°F is impressive, what day was that? The official record for NYC Central Park is 106°F and the official record highest for NY State is 108°F (in Troy).
My year on the US West Coast has been a bit odd. We had a couple hot days in January with temps as high as 95F. Here in San Francisco East Bay Area the thermometer outside indicates 56F with a forecasted high in the mid 60s.
I couldn't help but notice many posters on this thread are in OZ, a beautiful continent IMHO, and must note the irony that while I should be enduring the hottest part of the year here, I am enjoying weather more normally associated with that similar to what our friends in the southern hemisphere would experience. I'm not complaining mind you. It's just unusual.

I'm jealous! San Francisco sounds like a good place to escape the heat.
