Happy Valley

Bitter cold winters, short shoulder seasons, and short mild summers. Surprisingly cloudy and wet.

I give it an A. Winters are a little colder than I like, but I could deal with it. Everything else about it is great.

I can already see the F's coming.

Another horrific climate.

7 inches of snow in May?! 1.2 inches of snow in June?! I was going to give it a D, but no.

It's really cold for its latitude, too. Bella Coola is much better.

F

F (more for the temperatures than the sunshine).

F-.

At least for Fairbanks, it gets slightly warmer in the summer and less snowy precipitation as well as some more sunshine. And Fairbanks is in Alaska and Alaska is much better than Labrador.

Also, why does this place in Labrador have the name "Happy Valley-Goose bay." Instead it should be called "Suicide Valley, Goose Bay." No wonder only 7,500 people live there and I am pretty sure most of them are depressed there.

^^ Why would you make such an assumption like that? just because a place doesn't have the climate that you prefer doesn't mean people are depressed there.

And I rate it an A

Well I already got 2 rep points when I posted that in this thread so looks like people are agreeing with me in general.

I already know there are plenty of cases where just because a place doesn't have the climate I prefer doesn't mean the people are depressed there.
But that is not the case for this situation. It is because the climate for this place sucks so badly, and other things about this place sucks a lot too. So this place doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities for people to put up with the weather/climate there and enjoy living in Suicide Valley-Goose Bay.

And you gave this climate an A because you like inhospitable cold weather. I remember in your dream climate you said you would like an average high and low in January to be -30 Farenhieght for the high and -55 for the low.

Lol, and I for 3 rep points for my comment, what's your point?

And how do you know people there are depressed? Did you ask all 7,500 people yourself? My dad is a pilot and he has landed in Goose Bay before, he said it's a really nice town.

The entire Labrador is as big as Arizona in area but has less than half the population of Flagstaff (not counting the metro area). That should tell you something.
