Whoa. It's 64°F in Chicopee, MA (Western MA) and 34°F in Ithaca, NY. For two locations with a somewhat similar climate, that's an impressive contrast.

They're on opposite sides of a low right now.

60°F in Albany with a south wind; next station (Rome, NY) to the west is 45° with a west wind; so the low must be at a longitude in between the two.

2.4C/ 36.3 F and light rain right now.

There was a chance for snow or rain-snow mix here but all I see is drizzle (probably because I'm in the city).

It gradually got colder today over the day from about 7-8C (45-46 F) overnight to about what it is now in the afternoon, and looks like it'll be steady at this temperature tonight.

Currently 36°. Snow had been forecasted to fall since 10 AM this morning, but hasn't happened yet. Hopefully it's no more than a media hype (though the interior Northeastern region has been hammered I heard)...
