I would say from May to September here.
Spring is pretty sunny and dry but it really starts to warm up from May on and until September you can expect average high temperatures over 15°C, with extremes up to 30°C still possible in May and September.

July/August for here.
For most areas of Portugal I would say May-June and September-October, but all months are pretty good.

The most pleasant months are December to March here. Anything else is too hot.

Up in Buxton really only July and bits of August. It's a very cool climate all year round with no genuine summer so we get some comfortable days then if we're lucky.

Can't agree with this. While the months of November -March are the warmest months, I wouldn't say that Jan/Feb are as pleasant as October and April.

There's nothing particularly pleasant about summer sun at it's worst, compared to the milder temperatures and mellower sun of mid spring and mid autumn.
