I think my weather preferences have been the same my whole life. I've never been one of those crazy cold or heat lovers.

I have started to prefer warmer winters and more seasonal variation. Though I've made only minor tweaks to my dream climate since I first joined, the past two mild winters have proven that I don't long for cold frosty winters in the degree I used to do. Although I prefer snowy winters instead of overcast 3C drizzle, the monotonousity is depressing. If I lived in Siberia with guaranteed white Christmases and the focus point of winter would be that if the record cold is -25 or -30C it would be equally boring. I gladly take and odd 10-15C day in winter, just to keep it interesting, though it destroys the snowpack.

Equally I fancied more simple Mediterranean style winters, with like Barcelona 10 mm of rain and 29/20C hi-lows all the time. But now I want to experience the odd heatwave, coldwave, freak thunderstorm just to give more variation. I also disliked our high diurnal ranges in spring, but this time of the year is the best for some interesting events. While I still like summer to be summer and winter winter, and haven't become a fan of Denver's or Calgary's climates, the variables have mad weather more interesting.

Sometimes you seem like one of those crazy sun worshipers, though.

I used to like the idea of having a little snow and cold, just to make things interesting, but this past winter has made me not want any of it anymore. I'd still tolerate maybe an inch or two at a time, if winter was mild/warm 99% of the time, but that's about it.

I'm thinking 14/6C in the coolest month, and 34/23C in the warmest month would be ideal for me.

Lol we head a harsh winter, and it actually dropped my winter prefrence about 6C . Then again, it was severe for the south, so I might change my mind if I lived in the north, which I do want to try

Eh, 2900 hours is enough for me. But I do hate clouds more than the average person, I think.

More likely, the average person hates clouds more than me.

My ideal annual sunshine hours was 1400~1700 hours but now it changed to 1800~2200 hours, however still below 50% of possible sun.

Now it's more like 36~48°N regarding to sunrise/sunset patterns throughout the year.

I've changed my preferences to slightly cooler summer nights and a larger diurnal variation throughout the year.

I find myself enjoying spring and fall weather much more than i used to, although still not a fan of winter. But i am starting to think summer weather is overrated. Not that i have any control over it, but i would be perfectly content if the weather stays comfortably warm all summer but not super hot.

Anyone else find your weather preferences changing as you get older, one way or the other?
Coincidentally, it was 2012 that made me realize how much better I handle cold weather than hot weather. That entire year was just too warm or hot, depending on the season. I handle hot weather so much better when I have some cold weather in the winter to balance it out. If it's warm all year, though, I get highly annoyed. Cold weather is very refreshing, and it keeps my power bill down too. I just went four straight months without having to turn on the air conditioner in my bedroom, and it was great. On the other hand, I had to use the air conditioner at least once during every month in 2012, which was annoying. Give me extreme cold over extreme heat any day.
