I love rain and/or a thunderstorm in summer, I don't mind the heat just dislike the monotony of near constant sunshine that dominates the summers here.
I enjoy rainless overcast during the summer months, mainly as a relief. I also enjoy hot weather when I'm in a car, because AC feels much better blowing at your face than the choking feeling heat gives off. (Although heat isn't good first getting in the car)
I love cloudy weather for a day or two in the summer, and I especially love those afternoon cloudbursts we get in the southeast! it cools things off nicely. I love cold weather and snow of course, but I think if I had to drive in it everyday from November to march and deal with clearing my driveway and roof, then no way. I always thought I would retire up north so I would not have to get out in it, but I love seeing it!
Never experience "disliked" weather. Maybe the colour of the hazed sun? Haze is miserable, sure, but it makes the sky looks more beautiful (especially when the sun is low - it prevents blinding and adds more orange/red light)
I hate cold weather and don't like any aspect of it. I do enjoy a cool night now and then, but even then my preference is not below 50. Below that and my skin just dries out too much.
I especially like rain in the spring time. Around april or may. At that point the trees are already quite green and you can smell the flowers. The rain brings a sense of refreshment, and you know it's going to be summer soon anyway. I really don't like rain in the winter though. It's too depressing if you like in a cold winter climate.
I'll up to a week of Seattle-style overcast 50 degree rain to combat our drought situation.
Of course, I'd prefer 80 F with thunderstorms but that's not how L.A's weather works.
L.A-Mex's wishcasting of multiple winter heat waves one right after another have worked in his favor....as we run out of water.
Our heat waves are always dry, bone dry, and compound our drought situation.
If L.A-Mex isn't on this forum next winter (2015-2016), El Nino will strike and our drought will end at the expense of his beloved winter heat. We'll have highs in the 60s most of the winter but lots of lovely water for our land.
