Pretty much exactly the opposite of Coldcanadian's "Describe your ideal summer weather" thread.

For me, highs between -50 F and 0 F (So an avg high of -25 F for Dec-Feb)

Lows between -70 F and -10 F (An avg low of -45 F for Dec-Feb)

Frequent snowstorms (when it warms up) lots of clear bitterly cold days, in this climate 80% of snow falls in spring/fall, so basically lots of clear cold days with a large snow depth.

Cool, frequently cloudy but not for long stretches (more mostly cloudy than completely cloudy). I'm envisioning a places with rapidly changing sky cover where the clouds rush in and out, filling in the sky then partially emptying quickly. Decent amount of rain in a cozy way. Daytime temps in the mid 50s to low 60s. Few frosts.

Some would say it's not a real winter. But this is what I want.

If there's going to be real winter, I'd want frequent heavy, snowstorms, highs often in the high 20s to mid 30s. Similar skies as above, but definitely no long cloudy stretches. No extreme cold, and this snowy winter shouldn't last more than 2-2.5 months.

There's nothing wrong with not wanting to have a winter, especially if you acknowledge that's the case. I'm the same way with summer weather. My dream summer weather is not a real summer, but it's great just the same.

Sunshine, crisp, clear mornings, minimal rain. Max of 5 overcast days a month, with atleast 10 clear days. The rest should record atleast 5 hours of sunshine.

high temps atleast 15C, nights mostly warmer than 5C but a few freezing lows are okay to add a bit of variety.

Sounds almost like Melbourne. No frosts, regular cloud, always changeable weather (otherwise known as "wake up to a sunny morning, then cloud and rain 5 minutes later - and lastign the week" or "washing soaked the second I finish putting it out"), up to 20 rain days in a winter month, and daytime temps exactly in the mid 50's-to mid 60's range. Personally, I'd rather eat my own eyeballs.

My ideal winter is not what we get in Houston, we don't get winters here. I love cold weather, highs in the 30's would great.

Highs in the 50s and 60s, lows 40s and 50s. Mixture of sunny spells and light rain/gloom.

Temperatures fluctuating between about -7C and +7C, snow on the ground about half the time (though ideally with mountains nearby with snow all winter), 30-40% of possible sun with some fog, plus possible gales. Ideally weather patterns wouldn't go on for more than about a week before changing. I like a big difference in daylight hours between winter and summer and a low sun angle around the solstice, so ideally I'd be at 50-60 latitude, but preferably it should feel like spring by mid-March.

Basically the climate where I live, though maybe with a little more frequent sunshine. It's generally 40-50 degrees and cloudy, with frequent very light drizzle/mist with overnight lows in the 30s. Very few days that are fully sunny all day, but it's not exactly uncommon to have a day that's partly to mostly cloudy where the sun breaks out for a few hours, sometimes more and sometimes less. And one or two cold snaps with a little snow (maybe 3-5 inches per event). Oh, and on fully cloudy days it's practically dark by 3:30.

Temperatures usually between -15C and 0C between December and February, temperature may fall below -20C a few times purely for interest. Large snowfalls throughout the winter.r
