Wow, that's amazing! What's the earliest snowfall on record in Duluth? Any video of it happening?

I work at NWS Grand Forks and checked through DLH records and from what I saw the earliest measurable was on Sept 18 1991 with 2.4 inches.

Nice. Enjoy. Anything sticking? Any pictures?

As DaninEGF pointed out, it didnt beat the earliest snowfall date but it sure isnt common to see snow this early.

Temps look cold across there with real feel of teens across North Dakota.

Lucky you, you should enjoy it as i'm pretty sure its extremely hard to get snow at that latitude in september.

It'll be here in october i'd say as we've had alot of very cold nights, first frost last night and iceland has quite abit of snow, so that can help with cold pooling.

A couple of posts and tweets:

"No folks, this isn't rain. It's SNOWING in northern Minnesota tonight! A large area of low pressure in Ontario, Canada continues kicking pieces of energy and cold air into the northern U.S. Small hail producing storms in Duluth earlier this...evening have transitioned into wind-driven snow showers. This photo courtesy of KARE 11 News in the Twin Cities shows the flakes falling between Hibbing and Grand Rapids, MN. Are you a fan of snow?? -Meteorologist Bryan Karrick"

"I was wearing shorts in moorhead and now its snowing in Grand Rapids"

In London it can snow in November or December but it's rare. If it snows then it's usually in Jan or Feb for a day or two.

It won't in Brisbane any time soon. I don't think it has ever snowed in Brisbane.
