I'm not sure I'd want to live on a mountain - what's the snowiest settlement in New Zealand? Or the coldest? If New Zealand can offer a snowier, colder place than Braemar, or Dalwhinnie (i.e settlements where people live year-round), then I'd pick it in a heartbeat.

His negativity. It dampens the mood.

I doubt there is anywhere in new Zealand at a respectiable low height with a climate like braemar.

Alexandra, New Zealand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia or Cromwell, New Zealand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia but winters are comparable to lowland areas over here, though snow may be more likely. you would need to live on a rugged hillside.

You can just ignore it you know. I was commenting on the weather which is relevant to the topic. You and P London drawing attention to "my negativity" is silly trolling, because it adds nothing to the forum and if it bothers you so much, you will ignore it.

Plondon I bet the cold in new Zealand is faux cold. We have average highs of 6/7c but our cold comes from the source. I can't think of -5c uppers reaching new Zealand too often

I've noticed that from the start the start its really annoying. Anyway I would wish we had braemar's winters but keep our summers (of course!)
Getting snow in NZ is NOT reliable for a everyday city or even rural dweller while in lets say Newcastle its expected every year. Dunedin, christchurch and auckland won't be surprised if snow wasn't seen during a winter. While even in London snow is seen every year with at least one 'major' snow event each year.

Hm - they have average lows colder than anywhere low-lying in England, but similar to places like Braemar and Altnaharra, but very dry, and higher average highs.
