This week's forecast makes January look like mid-winter.

Thu ....... 22 / 33C
Fri ......... 21 / 31C
Sat ....... 19 / 32C
Sun ....... 21 / 32C
Mon ...... 21 / 36C
Tue ....... 24 / 36C
Wed ...... 25 / 37C

Today reached 33.8C and saw some cloud for the first time in 4 days. Not exactly the Melbourne I am familiar with

February was very warm aswell, averaging 17.6/29.2C which is nearly 3C above average for highs.

A sure sign of autumn here, with a noisy cricket chirping right outside the bedroom window most of the night.

On the other hand, yesterday was the warmest maximum temp in nearly 2 months (28C/83F) so it still feels like summer.

I dont know why we are posting in autumn thread with such summer temps, tbh

we ve been having cooler temps since mid-february, with some hot day here and there, today right now 29c at 6pm, but 30c and above temps can return any second.

An autum month for me is a month when 30c are the exception, and that month is definetely not march, but april (though record high of april is 36c, and im guessing we can except some 30c temps every year) and were the night cool off is noticeable.
Im guessing than in most of Australia, March haves summer temps still.

So for me, sadly, we are not in autumn yet

Sounds like you're having a great spell of weather in Melbourne. Well not my ideal, but I hope you're enjoying it.

It would be a record breaking spell of heat if the forecast sticks. Melbourne has never had more than 7 days in a row in March above 30C, if it extends to 9 days it would be a record for any month.

we ve had below average temps in January and February (only 0.4c, but still), so dont feel like you are the only one getting below temps.

Granted, 2012 was very above average year in nearly every month and the hottest year in the last 40 years!! (with a 18.4c average temp a year, compared to the supposed 17.7 normal average), so we deserved a bit of below average, as minimum as it was.

East coast Australia has been below par the last 6 weeks or so (relative to the norm), but given Brisbane is sub tropical, the 'cooler' temperatures are still not that bad (t-shirt weather, never > 1 layer).

The distinct sunshine shortage and high rainfall and rain days is another thing though....(hanging out for an improvement).
