Yup it's an island. Joe90 and B87 both got the right climate, though Joe's answer is much closer geographically. It's an Aw climate in the Caribbean. I posted that pic because it looks quite dry. And posting pics with coconut trees would've been too easy. Here are a few other pics of the area (it was during the dry season, about 50 mm / month):

What Island?
I actually posted Aruba as an option but my browser was down.
Yup it's the British Virgin Islands. You've been there? The first pic is Prickly Pear island. The flat one is Anegada. The other pics are from Tortola and Virgin Gorda (what a strange name!).
I guess it could well have been Aruba with the parched look.
