Roseburg has sunnier climate with cooler summer evening and wetter winters.
Toulouse, France has wetter summer, with warmer nights, while it has drier winters.
Roseburg receives 34 inches of precipitation annually.
Toulouse receives 26 inches of precipitation annually.
Both locations share same winter's average highs and lows.
Roseburg easily because of the sun. What's the source of the sunshine data?
Heres some data I could find. You could see Solar Energy kWh/M^2/day is high during summer months which show Roseburg receives abundant sunshine. I tried though! googled it.
And this shows Summer months gets only two days of precipitation. Which kind of shows it is clear most of the summertime.
Plus, heres the data for Medford, Oregon which is 60 miles south of Roseburg. You can compare sunshine hours.
Redding, California is 100 miles south of Medford, Oregon, NOAA and numerous data including sunshine by Hong Kong Observatory center stating Redding gets 88% of possible sunshine at 3,950 hours. Portland, Oregon, which is 170 miles north of Roseburg, receives 2,400 hours of sunshine. Roseburg and Medford meets in middle between Portland and Redding, while sunshine is in the middle between 2,400 and 3,900 which gives it 3,000 to 3,100 hours of sunshine. This data which makes sense, shows that Roseburg has accurate sunshine data.
The only reason Roseburg has slightly more sunshine hours in summer because it sits 800 feet below Medford elevation level plus 15 minutes longer summer days than Medford, which counts toward more sunshine hours total.
Roseburg due to it being sunnier. Since winters are similar, they aren't a factor.
For me, now it's a trade-off between the warmer summer nights (as I dislike cool nights in summer) of Toulouse and Roseburg's greater sun. I'll go with the sun in this case (since it's a large difference). Though if a climate like Toulouse had even more comfortable summer lows to me (by being warmer a few more degrees Celsius), I might go with it.
Another tricky one. I like Toulouse in all ways except it's sunshine, but then 3000 hrs is a bit more than I need as well. I'll go with Toulouse. If Roseburg could spare 500 hrs , that would be perfect.
