C+ I agree that the summer is too cool but the winter is so mild despite its high latitude. The mild temperature in winter time makes Tromso a great place to observe aurora.

Garbage climate. Hopefully one would experience somewhat cold conditions there to avoid being cheated out of a really interesting weather experience, otherwise why even bother showing up there? May as well hang around one of the big US cities.

Tromsø is definately one of the cities i want visit some day. Spectacular northern lights in autumn and winter and the everlasting midnight sun between May and July.

Climate wise cold winter but not too cold (the -18.4°C is even warmer than my alltime low here in northern germany), plenty of snowfall, though thaws in mid winter are also not so unusual there. Though i think between January and March snow cover should be seen each day.

Summer is mild though not really warm, however sometimes the city can experience quite summer like weather like the recent "heat wave" in Late May/Early June where they had temperatures up to 28°C.
But temperatures above 20°C are not really common there and also thunderstorms are probably very rare.

If i could deal with the almost two months not seeing any sunshine, i would rate it a B- but if not then i would still rate it a C. Midnight sun wouldn't be much of a problem to me i guess, i can sleep quite well when there's daylight out and i'm more of a night owl after all.
