Madrid - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (ignore the airport data, the diurnal ranges are a bit crazy)

Madrid has a Mediterranean climate with a strong continental influence. Winters are much colder than one would expect and summers fairly hot (though dry). It is not as extreme or as sunny as Sacramento, though. Also, precipitation is concentrated in spring and fall, and winter is somewhat dry.

Summers too warm, though they're probably somewhat tolerable with the lower humidity. Winters are acceptably cool. Sunshine is higher than ideal.

I'd go with a solid B. Winters are cool with a pretty hot summer.

Its not bad. I dont know why i thought summers in Madrid were worst ( and by worst i mean HOTTER!

) than Buenos Aires summers, so i had Madrid labeled as "hell"

. Now that i look at those stats, actually Madrid summers are cooler than BA (wich is a plus).
Winters, of course, are much colder. Maybe a little too cold?
Maybe dryness help the hot not feeling too hot and the cold not feeling too cold.

So, i think this is overall and OK climate and i ll give it a C.

B- from me, though that's probably influenced by the time I was there and we had perfect 25/12C weather with no clouds and no wind in early May a couple of years back. The locals refer to their climate as 'three months of winter and nine months of hell' (sounds better in Spanish), but it doesn't sound that way with those figures. It does at least occasionally get snow - in 2009 some of the higher suburbs (city centre is at 600m, higher suburbs I think go to 1100m) even had a white Easter, but a little dry for my tastes. Maybe the higher areas would be close to an ideal climate for me.
