Lima is the best

Iquique is not bad, too! But sunshine hours are too high and it's way too dry!

Aswan is too hot year round, Turpan is both too cold and too hot and Vostok is too cold year round.

Aswan...love the heat and sunshine. The temps are quite similar to phoenix but with a slightly warmer winter and cooler nights in the summer But FAAR more arid year round. I do like rain once in a while

Iquique. It was really only between Iquique and Lima, and I prefer Iquique from that because of slightly lower temperatures and lower humidity.

It's a difficult choice between Iquique and Lima. Probably Iquique, on balance, just because Lima's winters are so cloudy.

Iquique, on balance: Lima is slightly better in terms of temps, but the extra sun makes the difference.

If you HAD to live in an ultra arid climate, which would you pick?

A) Iquique, Chile- Iquique - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Mild temperatures and a good deal of sunshine year round)

B) Lima, Peru- Lima - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (mild year round with very cloudy winters)

C) Aswan, Egypt- Aswan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (very hot summers and very comfortable winters)

D) Turpan, China- Turpan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (has a lot of seasonality temperature wise with subfreezing daytime highs in winter and hot summers)

E) Vostok Station, Antarctica- Vostok Station - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (gets less than an inch of precip each year but of course it never melts so the snowpack is constant).
Arid? I think you are confused. The first two places at least are hardly arid. They lack precipitation but have high moisture levels. Las Vegas is actually much drier than either.
