We got lucky with the warm overnight low last night. It must have been mid 20's C in Springfield, when I finished my ale drinking at about 3.00 am. Very nice.

Here's a photo of the famous donut. All towns called Springfield got a free donut from the makers of the Simpsons movie, when the movie came out (for those who didn't know that interesting fact)

Just got back from a couple of weeks down south. The weather was mediocre, with plenty of rain and coolish temperatures. Even had a night of 2C/36F. The lake was still warm enough for swimming most days though.

Some photos showing the trip down (the green ones), and the trip back up (the brown ones) The second one shows a glacier terminating at 300m/900ft above sea level. Only 140 years ago, the trees in the immediate foreground, were under ice.

A+
I was watching the same storm from the rooftop carpark at my work this evening. Lots of CG action. Makes it the THIRD night in a row I saw lightning!

Very hot today. High of 44C after a 27C low.

Currently 28C with 20C dewpoint at 11pm. I noticed Phillip Island had dewpoints over 24C this afternoon.

Another 44C day forecast tomorrow. Might be the hottest of the bunch with stronger northerlies forecast ahead of a cold front.

Unusual weather for a subarctic climate?

I guess here's not dissimilar. Usually 15°C and raining all day but in June 2011 it suddenly reached 38°C on one day and was 15°C the next day again. Tomorrow's going to be a freak 27°C high due to the wind blowing from the Sahara Desert, but of course it will be back to 4°C with drizzle again for the next 4 months.

Looks rather humid in Melbourne right now with dew points around 20°C. 42/29°C three days after 23/17°C sounds fun.
