I live in Ft Myers, so if this is Hell I won't mind dying so much ! At least I never have to put up with that white stuff I hate so much.

Hottest place I ever was in is Arizona in August. It was 117 degrees and everyone was saying "Yes, but it is a DRY heat." So is an oven.

I think El Centro is worse for heat even without as much humidity, but I'm not sure which landscape I prefer. I suppose the desert. Both certainly look as uncomfortable as their climate stats suggest. At least those chairs are in the shade. Wouldn't want to sit in that sun.

Ft. Meyers. I really don't like averages over 80, so at least I'd be out 6 months in el centro. Whereas in Ft. Meyers I'd only be out 3 months. Suffering is suffering, so I'd take the one with least amount of suffering. I hate humidity.

El Centro definetely feels hotter when i went to palm springs which has really similar climate to El Centro it was 110 outside and the sun was just beaming down. Florida however is much easier to deal with as it has passing clouds and showers. not too surprised el Centro is winning easily but there are hotter locations in CA such as Coachella valley, Brawley and needless to say death valley. But i love hot weather so el centro for me

I lived in Fort Myers for 2 years. I hate humidity, but I think I would vote El Centro as more hellish. With Fort Myers, the gulf is nearby, which is a nice break. Although I gotta tell you, in the July and August, it feels like you are sitting in a huge warm bathtub, so it isn't much of a break. Yeah, this is a pretty close race for me! But El Centro by a nose.

The worst part about EL Centro is how the heat feels on ones skin. It burns and dries your skin out. Living in El Centro is synonymous to living inside a microwave. Ft. Myers might be a pressure cooker, but the location at least ensures that my skin stays smooth & healthy. El Centro better have lots of Vaseline and sun block in stock if I plan to live there (Which is absolute suicide in my opinion). Otherwise, your days are numbered .

Ft. myers is pretty good even if it's winters are a little cold. El centro however is aweful scorching hot summers with no rain with chilly winters.

Ft. Myers is closer to the equator. During summer in Florida fair skinned people can burn in 10 minutes
