As soon as Arthur & front leave we dry out. But rest assure its summer and the mugginess comes back Monday thereafter until the next break. At least we're getting these breaks!

Once was a cool 4th of July morning, now it's for Saturday with the slower front.

GFS minimum temps Sat morning. Notice the coast still 60s even with cool dry Canadien air.. lol Love/Hate

Enough shivering! Hundreds of thousands flee for fairer climes

The unseasonably cold start to summer has boosted the sales of package holidays in Finland. The biggest travel agents sold 20-30 percent more package deals during June than they did at the same time last year.

“These are staggering figures,” Eva Torra of the Apollo travel agency says. “Midsummer was cold and crummy, so we had a 250 percent increase in sales. Weather is a major factor in travel sales.”

Finnish waters unusually cool mid-way through summer

This summer swimmers in Finland are having to steel themselves to take the plunge in most of Finland's lakes and waterways. The Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) reports that waters across the country are colder than normal, in some places as cold as they have been in any summer since 2000.

At the end of July
(SIC, they mean June) water temperatures were between 14 and 17 degrees in the south and centre of the country and between 5 and 13 degrees in Lapland. Those temperatures are 2-4 degrees Celsius below normal levels across the country.

But enough of the suffering, summer will arrive!

The weather will suck only in Scotland, Norway and Paris!

didn't feel that bad this morning with the humidity, at least when the sun wasn't out.

It actually wasnt. I must b getting used to the warm muggy mornings now. That's why 50s would feel real nippy here in the summers. Unlike upper Midwest. I saw 30s in North Dakota this morning and lots of 40s in upper Midwest.

I plan on tackling some wood splitting today and changing some outdoor lights. .

I went for a morning walk just before 8 am. Was feeling "this is nice, c'mon sun stay down". My average July is 59°F, makes a big difference in feel for a short time. The first time I lived in a place with summer lows in the upper 50s, I thought I'd dislike it because I couldn't wear shorts and a T-shirt the whole day. But instead liked it.

Living without A/C I'm considering a second quick shower (last one was yesterday evening). Got a bit sweaty just being still.

Love the cooler air coming, but pity those in Pittsburgh. Lows in 40's would have me in a coat this time of the year .
