Hello fellow people discussing frozen rivers and such. You can actually look at daily sat photos of the areas being discussed here. Worldviewer is pretty cool. That has the filter set so ice shows up as red. You can change to many other views, as well as pan and zoom the entire world.

Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Yup... here's an update. Thanks for the reminder!

As of yesterday some big Lakes are still or partially frozen. I see the ice and snow on the hills too. I labeled some stuff for us.

Northern Maine Alert.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CARIBOU MAINE HAS EXTENDED THE

* FLOOD WARNING FOR...AN ICE JAM IN...NORTHWESTERN AROOSTOOK COUNTY IN NORTHERN MAINE... UNTIL 315 PM EDT THURSDAY

* AT 831 AM EDT...THE REPORTING GAUGE AND WEB CAM AT THE DICKEY
BRIDGE INDICATE A LARGE ICE JAM IN THE VICINITY OF THE ALLAGASH
BRIDGE IN DICKEY.

For Hartford County in Connecticut

...The Flood Warning has been extended for the following rivers in Connecticut...

Connecticut River... At Middle Haddam affecting Middlesex County. At Hartford affecting Hartford and Middlesex Counties

* This flood warning is the result of rapid snowmelt across Northern New England. Melt water will continue to channel through the Connecticut River basin. This will allow for rises across the lower branch of the Connecticut River, especially at Hartford and Middle Haddam.

I was fascinated this winter watching the sea ice around Long Island, and Cape Cod. As well as the record amounts coming out of the rivers.
