Criteria used for the list:
- Temperatures "rarely" exceed 80°F/26°C and "rarely" fall below 50°F/10°C.
- Total average daily mean temperature between 60°F/15°C and 70°F/21°C.
- Average yearly rainfall is between 20 inches and 50 inches.
- No recorded snowfall.

*Some of the listed locations don't completely fit the criteria but it would be a very small list without them!

*I tried to pick at least one location per continent. I might have missed one so please don't yell at me! The World is a big place!

*All locations fall under either Subtropical, Mediterranean, or Oceanic classification. In fact some of these locations have characteristics of more than one classification.

Good catch. it doesn't rain as often though. 16" is semi-arid territory. its a tough call for which one is better... it really depends on the average number of rainy days and average humidity. London, England is notorious for being a rainy place but it only accumulates 23" a year...

Mossel Bay is indeed mild, there is nothing mild about Durban.
Albany gets my vote on this list.

well i think most people can agree that 70°F/21°C is the goal. in that regard both locations are almost the same distance from the goal. Mossel Bay wins but not by a large amount. and then there is the concern of rainfall. 16" looks too low.

overall i would change the choices from Durban to Mossel Bay if I could but I don't think I can change the poll at this point...

I can't believe I forgot about Norfolk Island! Aside from raining a bit too much its nearly perfect for the temperature ranges.

I'm biased of course but it has to be San Diego even though it doesn't fit all the guidelines.
