Damp and blustery. 61F, dewpoint 57F, 16 mph wind. I wore a long sleeve shirt and still feels a bit colder than I expected.

Friday we have max of 50s. Been a long time since.

Current setup. Strong Cold High over Hudson Bay. In the 30s at 8-9pm in those spots.. Storm off coast of Maine. Front off the coast. That front is going to move back into us here while temps stay cold..

That's kinda cool!! Its like the front pushed off shore to let the colder air come in, then the front is going to push back in and say thanks, now its my turn again.

FYI!!!! That High Pressure is the blocking High for Joaquin. So much fascinating weather going on!

If that High moves out too fast, New England could get hit with the Cane

Temperature itself wasn't bad for this time of the year but it's been horribly humid for last few days.
I think highs of 80s wouldn't reach in early October, that's a big relief though Joaquin got my attention since they upgraded the storm as category 2.
How big will they impact in central North Carolina?

I'm not sure why you feel the need to remind me.

I find it quite amazing, I think it's been several years since we had a temperature that warm at night.

I guess "amazing" is one way to describe.....I have a few more select colorful words to describe it...but I don't want to go on a Melbourne guy rant.

Poor forecasters. How do they tell residents to either prepare for something bad or enjoy nothing within 72hrs??

New Euro overnight STILL goes out to sea. Latest GFS update decides to come north and hit NYC area with a CAT 1 hurricane.

Here are the winds from the GFS for Monday.

This plus drenching rains.

Hurricane force wind gusts into NJ and Long Island.

Cold High to the North. Hurricane to the South.

Data continues to suggest the Northern Jet Stream stays in Canada next 2 weeks with no Freeze/Frost threats to Northeast (except northern New England, high elevations, and around Great Lakes)

Playing the loop it's really sad to see it struggle to push south into the U.S. not used to that this time of year!!
