First you have 70F highs, and a couple of days later snow. Incredible.

Close-up. Don't get dizzy. You can see why there are pokes of sun here and there.

my cousin now reporting snow flurries near Poughkeepsie, NY. 1100'. Furthest south I see report of snow.

Moisture really picking up coverage but VERY scattered. You have to get lucky to see anything.

Can't rely on the radar for PType with this. Need actual ground reports.

Wow. The forum really blew up with that lake effect. Wonder what will happen here when the northeast gets their first blizzard.

On a side note, it looks like the colder air has definitely made it south into my area. Already past 12 and it's still 60 F out with full sun.
Tonight is expected to be my coldest night since March 31st.

Danbury is at 43 F right now. I didn't think flurries were possible, then I saw the 19 F dewpoint, and I guess it makes sense. Drier air allows snow to fall at higher temps than humid air.

Why aren't you on the road chasing snow?

Down here, October is living up to its reputation for wall-to-wall sunshine. Up to 60 now.

I should. Sherman is only a 40 min drive. Litchfield hills an hour+. Outside now. Have few things to do b4 the work week.

42°F at 1:30pm. Perfect October weather. Sun is out now though but air is crisp! Partial sky color is bright blue. Mostly clouds still.

OMG. The most southernmost part of Finland that has gotten any snow so far is Sodankylä at around 67.5N.

Well, I don't need any snow before December, so I don't mind.

Interesting. Always impresses me how far south the snow can fall in U.S compared to other regions/continents even early in season.

You mentioned 70s then snow... how about Michigan... near 90F then snow.
