There is nothing hilarious here on the board, but your never ending circle of nonsense, lol.

So you truly think that British people as a whole have a high level of competence in foreign languages? REALLY?

Seriously, I think you need to go and do further research. I have went through the education system and I would say I have the upper hand here. British people have TERRIBLE foreign language skills!

"I have went through"

Jesus Christ. You might want to try and learn English yourself Owen.

I still guess it is slightly better than the level of competence in foreign languages that people from US, New Zealand and Australia have...

Is that something you're proud of? Being a citizen of an island nation offshore Europe, with all those French, Spanish and German speakers practically next door?

We can be *somewhat* excused for our insular ways, considering we have 3000 miles of elbow room to roam around.

Come to think of it, though, we actually have areas right here in the US which have a minority of English-speakers. After all, we do not have an official language.

What a fail for an English native speaker like Owen.
Everyone knows he went to Spain for holidays and then he began to blame Spaniard people as a whole so much because of he met few older people from the countryside who didn't speak proper English at all.

Spanish is indeed the most common language spoken in the United States after English. Many signs in Wal-Mart have a "se habla espanol" option.

59% of Dade County is Spanish-speaking. 27% speak English only.
