Good post. I never really understood the kind of over obsession some Americans have about heritage, when so many are all mixed nationalities. Some tend to pick and choose which heritage they like the best. This is like meeting someone here with the name O'Reilly, and they have an Italian flag tatooed on their forearm. Wierd to me. They have no connection to Italy, and maybe had one grandmother Italian, and you would think they were born there. They go on and on about how proud they are to be "Italian". Whatever.
You're, like, a WASP or something, right? Let me put it this way. When it comes to Ukraine, I couldn't make myself not care about Ukraine, or to regard it as just another country or something like that, which is the way it is for WASPs, etc. Not possible for me to do. The American melting pot identity is bull****, and it doesn't work.

What on earth does being a "WASP" or any other ethnicity have to do with it? Sorry, but you seem quite obsessed about race and ethnicity and tribal this or that. If Ukraine is so important to you, think about moving there or something. I doubt they are very restrictive about immigration since the country is basically a basket case.
