Oh I don't believe this. Apparently a traffic camera caught me "running a red light"...i.e. not coming to a complete stop when turning right on red, even though there was absolutely no traffic coming. The ****ty black and white photos show my car at the light, as if that proves ****. There aren't even any times on the photos, ffs!! They could have been years apart. And the ticket...$150.

Ouch. That's a hefty fine. Could as well have turned right in 3rd gear for that amount of money. I recently received my first ticket, 90 euros for doing 90 mph instead of 70. Fair enough.

Fight it. Always fight these things. If everyone contested their tickets, they'd have to give it up.

Yeah, speeding and red-ticket fines are sky-high now. A run-of-the-mill speeding ticket around here runs about $250.

It's a good thing cops are pretty lenient - up to a point.

Not worth it. It's a guaranteed loss.

Red light cameras are a scam. They're there to generate revenue. They can even make intersections more dangerous. I completely oppose them.

You've got 100% agreement there.

Our former guvn'r realized that they were a scam, but he wanted to keep the safety advocates happy. Know what he did? He got a law passed that any intersection with red light cameras had to have a minimum of 4.1 seconds yellow light time, to reduce the increased number of rear-end accidents at these intersections. Not only did these accidents immediately drop to pre-camera levels, the ticket rate dropped by over 80% right off the bat.

Most (almost all, really) of these cameras are gone now.

That nifty little move showed the world how much of a scam these evil things are.

70 minutes to get from Point A to B which was 18 miles away. Wonderful.

Funny you said that.. That time of the year.

4pm Sun visor and Sunglasses mandatory. Thank God for the trees blocking some of it out..

Strange that it looked bigger or brighter today. Behind the trees it looked cool all you saw was a big orange ball.

I knew what was coming when I got over the hill.

Not even over it. Whats crazy is this area is known for sudden traffic congestion and stops. Cant even see the car in front.

Which is worse Sun or Fog?

I hate those things. Those and the artificially low speed limits here are just ticket revenue. It's sick.

Damn, I was just looking forward to receiving my $100 check from Google, too. Looks like all of that and more will be spent paying the scammers.

Couldn't you exit the parkway and take local roads if the traffic's bad? It's your area, so you know the alternate routes. I try to exit to skip Meritt Parkway jams but I don't know the area well
