The police will not do anything. That's true in general for these cases. But I'd imagine especially in Miami, where it probably happens thousands of times of day.

Nah, I don't think I want to go through all that trouble or put the police through all that trouble over 200 dollars......

It was used at an Aeropostale store at the mall and at a bar in Miami.

Well, maybe not thousands. But in the order of magnitude of a hundred times of day in the city would probably be accurate, I'd reckon.

You've heard the one when two Finns went fishing?

Ok, so they were on the lake, and after an hour the other guy said "the fish don't seem to be biting today". The other one murmured something, and then they were silent again.
An hour later the first guy said again "yeah, the fish aren't here at all, let's go home".
The second man said: "yeah, it's because you talk too much and scare all the fish away!"

There's a variation of this in Canada I suppose. Two Finnish-Canadians walk into a bar and order some shots. The first one says "jeez, quiet night tonight". The other one murmurs. Then the first guy says "should we sit down"?".
The second guy says "are we here to talk or drink or what?"

Okay, so card present. IMO, makes it much less likely it was this 7-11 guy. Data breach is more likely. Gas stations are high risk because of skimming devices criminals often put at the point of sale terminals. If you use it for gas, I'd say there's a good likelihood this is how the # was taken, at some unknown point in the past.

My mom back in like 2002 (or 2003) had her information stolen and someone used 5,000 dollars out of her credit card.

Never had it happen to me thankfully, and I've had a debit card for the past 13 years.

Good

A Russian complains about the infrastructure of a city to his wife. She replies: "Roads are expensive, my dear".
