At least you won't have to wait half an hour for a bus when it's 10F.

Yep, nothing to do with the millions of guns in the hands of civilians in the great US...

Not sure which debate is worse, climate change or gun control.

Are people that Naieve that they think Pyschos, terrorists and criminals will obey the law? It hasnt and banning It just makes us sitting ducks, thats all. What we need is mental and history checks on every single person. Thats the main issue. A normal person doesnt do those things.

And FYI.. California has very strict laws in place.

Strict laws don't matter when surrounding areas are handing guns out willy nilly.

Exactly. It's admirable that California and other areas try to curtail the availability of lethal weapons, but it's ultimately a fruitless mission, because the mass availability of such weapons elsewhere in the country means they will eventually find their way in.

Such an attack here, or anywhere in Europe, would be considered a serious attack. It would be major news for weeks. There would be national memorial services in dedication to the people killed. In the US, it's not even that significant. In fact, they couldn't even tell if it was ISIS related or just another disgruntled nutjob with easier access to firearms than mental healthcare. What it must be like to live in a country where these things are routine.

When was the last time a mass shooting was thwarted by an armed civilian? I can't remember. Any suggestions?

Not that noticeable. The rate of people of dying from mass shootings in the US is much, much lower than dying in a car accident. My chance of getting hit and killed by a car bicycling is much higher than getting randomly shot and killed.

There have been more mass shootings than days so far this year. Yesterday's attack was just one of two, there was a mass shooting in Georgia just hours prior to the one in California, these situations are very routine. Americans are far more more likely to be killed in a mass shooting or by a police officer than in a "Muslim" terrorist attack.

Americans have become so desensitized to it, it's sick, but who can help it when this happens so often. Everyone's so worried about Syrian refugees and foreign terrorism, but no one wants to do anything (except pray) about domestic terrorism, which is the greater threat by far, it's just ass backwards.

There was a situation in Texas this year, I don't remember the specifics though, there's been so many shootings since then.
