European posters haven't done that, only Botev in Seattle.

Yeah, Botev clearly has something to prove about Seattle but come on lets not kid ourselves. I've seen plenty of European posters doing that (although obviously not using just three years, but something ridiculous like the 2005-2015 averages or something like that).

If you're referring to me posting the last 10 years summer data, it was to show how poor they've been compared to average, and the 10 years before that.

I did that. Mainly because I'm interested how recent years have been in comparision to the 81-10 averages. I don't see the problem there.

I just don't get what a period of ten years is supposed to tell us. Although I understand doing it for comparison purposes, seems like some people do it to prove that their climate is milder than the averages or something though. They make comments like "Since 2004, the climate has been warming" or something like that.....a period of 12 years that's warmer than normal means the climate is warming?
