I think in places like Buffalo the climate would drive one insane rather than the shop closing times
I live in a town of 8000 and the supermarkets close at 9pm. The one department store here shuts at 6pm and the local hardware store at 2pm on Sundays. There is one pharmacy and newsagent that are closed on a ****ing Saturday The nearest major town, Mildura, the major supermarkets are open 6am-midnight and the smaller ones usually until 10pm. Department stores up to 9 or 10pm depending on the store.
Both actually, that's why some people in Upstate NY are so crazy lol. I worked at a campus job and had some really..."interesting" experiences. One chick kept taking smoke breaks every 10 minutes when we worked
