I have an idea! Let's make this kind of threads instead of just "rating", it will surely be more interesting!

Too dry and too sunny, besides that it's a pretty sweet climate.

Too many to name really, but the brutal winters and 30 inches of snow in spring are easily the two worst

Interesting idea for a thread, I agree it has the potential to be more informative and interesting than typical "rate the climate" threads. I'm gonna throw in the things I think are "right" about the climate as well, because I think that will make it more interesting

Things that are wrong with the climate:
-winters are too cold
-snow season and sub-freezing averages last too long
-the diurnal range in the warm season is too high/summer nights are too cool
-humidity can be excessively low for a large part of the year
-day-to-day variation is too high/climate is too unstable

Things that are right with the climate:
-those vivid prairie skies I love so much
-very nice summers despite the overly cool nights
-winters are relatively dry
-good amount of rain and thunderstorms during the warm half of the year
-good amount of seasonal variety
-good amount of sunshine - the sunnier months aren't too sunny, the cloudier months aren't too cloudy

It's 30cm in the spring, not 30 inches. Still too much for my liking, but not quite as bad.

I actually like the idea. But that would require that climate battles/rate climates would be banned for all eternity. This forum is again overflooded by climate battles, and those who are interested in discussing their climate are becoming fewer and fewer...

And a public poll would be nice...

Too cold lows in all 12 months, bad and too short shoulder seasons, too dry.

Still terribad. 30 cm of snow in spring is 30cm too much. Let's take all that snow and put it in December lol

Winters way too cold.
Shoulder seasons too cold
Summers not warm enough with chilly nights and mostly just lukewarm days.
Freezes recorded in every month of the year.

What's right with this climate?
Gets thunderstorms in summer
Potential for heat waves in summer

I'd like to create a "What's Wrong Thread" for an office climate with uniform close to room temps most of the year and no thunderstorms (Lima, San Diego, Santa Barbara, or Canary Islands) but I'm past my cap. Would anyone want to do one for me?

Very familiar with Brandon as I know several folks who live there. It is in the middle of the Prairie wheat belt. It is strongly continental in nature climate-wise, a bit colder than North Dakota but otherwise a great place!
