On average October is a tad warmer, but the record high for April is higher.

Generally October and April are very similar in temperature here. October just seems cooler because it's somewhat less humid and cold snaps are more common.

I wonder how many people clicked the thread and answered the poll based on the question of the thread. lol
I added the poll a day later because nobody answered the "which do you prefer" part. Lol....

From 2000-2015. April was warmer actually, 73.25/51, October at 72.9/51. The top reason that lowers April's averages is rain cooled days I'd say. The 2 are very similar temperature wise though, they go back and forth which are warmer for the year.

I like April more, like Melodic a said, October just seems cooler. Without looking at Wikipedia I was thinking to myself April is warmer, no question. Didn't realize October was slightly warmer(not 2000-2015 though,it was the opposite). And also October is a cooling month, April is a warming one. Spring is my favorite season, autumn my least favorite.... So yeah definitely prefer April.

I think that should tell you about a majority of the people in the weather forum. It gets tedious to keep talking about what we prefer. We all have a warm or cool preference so it's always going to be the same answer so who cares. Same for the rate this climate threads. Who cares. It's dull. Boring.

But when you ask which month is warmer x or y .. or something pertaining to weather for everyones location....that's interesting because we like to see weather and climate of other areas. Who cares which location is better.

How about they're both interesting? Now I also do think the latter is much more intriguing, but knowing people's preferences is fun. And this is purely subjective - Just because you don't find it interesting doesn't mean that others won't.

Oh and btw, I still don't know the majority of people's climate predilections in here. At least, I forget them easily. I do know that Deneb and BBQking are heat lovers, ChicagoGeorge likes four seasonal climates, EverBlack likes cold weather (I think?) - These are at the top of my head. With the rest, it will be helpful if they lay out their preferences.

P.S. To be honest with you Cambium, I'm not the biggest fan of your weather news threads (you usually link Twitter posts), but I don't go about saying "stop it, these posts are so boring". I merely ignore these sort of threads and refrain from posting. Funnily enough, they don't get as much replies compared to the rate the climates (aka the "boring" threads)...Noticed that?

Sure, but the main purpose of the weather forum is discuss weather, what's happening, how it works, its patterns, etc. Talking about preferences is a fun side at most. I thought the main interest of the "rate the climate" threads was the discussion on the locations, the rating or preferences wasn't really the point.

Anyone who posts frequently enough you can get a decent idea of the weather they prefer. This thread mapped regular user's preferences into a chart:

Let's try an experiment...

Perhaps an updated chart could be made.

I like warm to hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters, and absolutely hate any lows below 0c with a passion. I think my ideal climate is similar to those of nei, Rozenn, irlinit and SophieLL.

Pick your favorite mild climate
